Welcome to the Calm Nest

Welcome 👋
I create, share, and build things online.

About us

Hi, I’m Saba. I’m a mom and a former volunteer teacher of young children, and I create these stories for the sensitive, thoughtful kids who need a softer way to end the day. The Calm Nest is a gentle place to slow down together.

Our stories are made for the quiet moments at home: the wind-down before bed, the pause after a big day, the minutes when everyone needs to breathe. Each one is told in a soft, steady voice, with no rush and nothing to be startled by.

Some of the stories sit with feelings that can be hard to talk about, like worry, shyness, being different, or missing someone. They do it softly, through characters and small moments, so there are no lectures and nothing is expected of your child.

Press play, settle in, and let the story do the gentle work. You’re welcome here, whenever you need it.

About the stories

Every story follows the same gentle rhythm, so children know what’s coming and can relax into it. We begin with a quiet moment to settle the body, move through a slow, soothing story, and end with a soft landing toward sleep.

Our stories use dark or softly lit visuals, a calm narrator, and no sudden sounds, so there is nothing to excite or startle. They are made for bedtime, quiet time, car rides, or any moment your child needs to settle.

New stories are added several times a week, so there is always something new to listen to.

What to expect
Dark-Screen Stories

Some nights, a screen is the last thing a child needs. These stories are made for those nights.

Each one plays over a calm, dark screen, so there is nothing to watch, nothing to chase, and nothing to keep little eyes open. All that’s left is a soft voice, a slow story, and the quiet of the room.

Every story begins with a gentle settling, a few slow breaths, and a soothing check-in from head to toe. Then the story unfolds at an unhurried pace, and ends with a soft landing toward sleep. Many children drift off before the story ends, and that’s exactly the point.

Dim the lights, press play, and let the evening slow down.
